Peacock
The Spirit of the Monsoon
Experience a 19th-century legacy as a Peacock, with our Monsoon Malabar, a medium-roast coffee as bold and vibrant as a peacock’s plume. Through a unique process, hand-picked beans are exposed to humid monsoon winds, causing them to swell and naturally shed their acidity. This rare technique yields an exceptionally smooth, earthy, and mellow body, making it one of the least acidic roasts in the world. Perfect for those who love the wind, every sip delivers an uplifting, "monsoon-washed" freshness that is truly unique.
Earthy. Smooth. Uplifting.
Monsoon Malabar
Monsoon Malabar
Monsoon Malabar:
What makes this process yield a different flavor profile than the others:
The Monsoon Malabar process is a unique method used primarily for robusta beans in India, which involves exposing the beans to monsoon winds and moisture to create distinct flavor characteristics. Here’s how the process works:
*Harvesting: Ripe robusta cherries are hand-picked, ensuring that only the best quality beans are selected.
*Drying: The harvested cherries are initially dried in the sun for a few days to reduce moisture content. This helps prepare them for the subsequent monsoon exposure.
*Storage: The dried beans are then stored in open warehouses during the monsoon season, typically from June to September. This allows the beans to absorb moisture from the humid air and the rain.
*Moisture Exposure: During the monsoon, the beans are regularly exposed to the elements, which causes them to swell and lose some of their acidity. This process can last for several weeks, allowing the beans to develop unique flavor profiles.
*Drying Again: After the monsoon period, the beans are dried again to remove excess moisture, bringing them back to the ideal moisture content of around 11-12%.
*Hulling: Once dried, the outer parchment layer is removed.
The Monsoon Malabar process imparts a distinctive flavor to the beans, often characterized by earthy, mellow tones with a smooth body and reduced acidity, making them quite unique among robusta coffees. If you love the wind like we do, then this coffee will create an uplifting feeling in each sip.

Health Benefits
Health Benefits
- High Antioxidant Content: Contains up to 2-3 times more antioxidant compounds, specifically chlorogenic acids, than Arabica, which fight oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and may reduce cancer risks.
- Strong Cognitive Boost: The higher caffeine content provides an intense, immediate energy boost, improving alertness, memory, and cognitive performance.
- Better Digestive Tolerance: Generally lower in acidity, which can be beneficial for reducing digestive issues or acid reflux compared to other coffee types.
- Weight Management & Metabolism: Caffeine acts as a metabolism booster, helping to break down body fat and suppress appetite when consumed as part of a healthy diet.
- Liver & Cardiovascular Protection: Regular, moderate consumption is associated with a reduced risk of liver diseases (like cirrhosis and cancer) and supports cardiovascular health.
- Improved Physical Performance: Boosts physical endurance and reduces perceived exertion during exercise.
- Mental Well-being: Stimulates neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, potentially reducing the risk of depression and improving mood

Coffee Care
Coffee Care
Store in a cool, dark place
Heat and light break down coffee oils. Keep beans in a cupboard or pantry at room temperature, far from the stovetop, oven, or sunlight.
Avoid moisture
Coffee beans are porous and absorb surrounding moisture, which can ruin flavor. Never store coffee in the refrigerator or freezer for daily use, as condensation occurs when opening the container.
Buy smart & keep whole
Buy in small quantities (enough for 2–4 weeks) to ensure maximum freshness. Keep beans whole and grind only what you need, just before brewing, to retain aroma and flavor.
Minimize handling
Every time you open the bag, you introduce oxygen. Re-seal the bag promptly after each use to protect the remaining beans.
A little care goes a long way in keeping your Peep’l coffee bold and delicious ✨

I just wrote a review on the Tiger bag and also ordered this in my order to get the deal of free shipping if i get 2 bags. I like this one a lot, different than what i have ever tried. My roommate likes this more than the Tiger bag and I like the Tiger more than this. We brewed it as espresso and mine was with some half/half. My roommate had his shot of espresso black. I can tell you this much, this coffee is stronger than what anyone is used to. I like that it is single origin and how I can see how coffee can taste so differently from how it is processed. My roomie loves the crema, its quite thick. I'll try the other process, Elephant next and will order the Tiger one again.
I heard about monsoon rained coffee and found this product. I like it a lot, this coffee reminds me of having a cup of coffee by the campfire. Makes me want to try their other coffees :)
